XiTRACK™ Projects:  Knighton Junction

Knighton Junction lies between Leicester and Market Harborough and had been suffering lateral stability problems for some time.  The traffic is mixed and water has been known to be present below rail level; through passenger traffic speed is 80/90mph. 

XiTRACK treatment was designed to give a polymer loading profile leading to a GeoComposite providing a maintainable, improved alternative to end-plates for improving the lateral stability of the junction structures.  Compared to end-plates, the treatment was considered to be cost-effective. 

XiTRACK Polymer application was completed within schedule and subsequent monitoring has confirmed that the treated areas have performed as expected.
