XiTRACK™ Projects:  Syston North Junction

Following on from the successful and viable use of XiTRACK Treatment as a cost-effective alternative to end-plates for improving lateral track stability, it was employed to overcome a similar problem at Syston North Junction, near Leicester. 

Here lateral track stability problems are aggravated by the low radius of the turnout which, although the line speed was relatively low, does lead to significant lateral forces.   

Again the XiTRACK Treatment was carefully designed to provide a maintainable, superior alternative to end plates for improving the lateral stability of the junction track structures. 

XiTRACK Polymer application was completed within schedule and subsequent monitoring has confirmed that the treated areas have performed as expected.
